Today we explored www.voki.com. According to their site, “Voki is a free service that allows you to create personalized speaking avatars and use them on your blog, profile, and in email messages.”
Watch this quick tutorial video about how to use the Voki site. Again, I would recommend creating a classroom Gmail account so that all of the student Voki’s are saved under one account. Voki’s are also “embeddable,” so you can add them to your webpage, blog, wiki, etc.!
There are LOTS of ways to use Voki’s in the classroom. Here are just a few ideas:
· Give literary characters a voice
· Biographies or autobiographies
· Practicing fluency
· Introducing new units
· Many more!!!
